One recipe, every view

One recipe.
Every view your team needs.

One production recipe shows up two ways — the guest story out front and the working spec on the line — while your preps stay reusable building blocks with their own batch math. Try switching between them:

Front of House

The guest-facing story for your floor: menu language, selling points, pairings, and allergens — without measurements or temps.

Heart of House

The cook's working spec by station: steps, temps, and food-safety control points — the view that runs on the line.

Prep

A separate recipe type for your building blocks: yields, a batch scaler that rescales every quantity, and where each prep is used.

Built for the line

The Heart-of-House view is dark, glare-resistant, and readable at arm's length with gloved hands — designed for the heat of service.

Offline-resilient

The line caches the current recipes and shows a clear 'synced as of' stamp, so service continues through a dropped connection — and it flags clearly when it's out of date, so the line is never silently on an old spec.

Acknowledgments, with manager sign-off

Cooks tap to confirm they've read the current revision — or, where you want accountability, a named manager enters a PIN for an attributed sign-off. Everyone's re-prompted whenever a new revision publishes.

Control points you can't miss

Critical control points read red; quality points read gold. Fixed — never restyled or configured away.

Renamable everywhere

Every view label is yours to rename — call them what your kitchens already call them.

Questions

Good to know

Is it really one recipe behind Front of House and Heart of House?

Yes — one production record renders both views, so the floor and the line are never working from different versions. Preps are separate building-block recipes that your production recipes pull in.

Can we rename the views?

Yes. 'Front of House' and 'Heart of House' are default view labels, and both are brand-renamable to match the language your teams already use.

Can we require a manager to sign off, not just a cook?

Yes. If a store has manager profiles, tapping 'I've read this' asks for a manager's PIN and records the sign-off against that manager. Without profiles, it's a one-tap acknowledgment attributed to the device.

What device does the line run on?

An iPad on the line is the intended device: a dark, glare-resistant display readable at arm's length with gloved hands, with 44px+ touch targets.

What happens if the internet drops mid-service?

The line keeps working. It caches the current recipes and shows a 'synced as of' stamp; it flags clearly when it's out of date so the line is never silently on an old spec, and it re-syncs automatically when the connection returns.

How do control points stay safe?

Critical control points (food safety, red) and quality points (gold) are fixed in the product — they can't be recolored, hidden, or configured away in any view.
