Build on what you've built.

Write a recipe with steps, ingredients, yields, and per-step media — then reuse your preps as building blocks inside other recipes. Allergens roll up through every layer, automatically.

Preps as building blocks

Use a prep (a sub-recipe) as an ingredient inside another recipe — nested with no depth limit and protected against cycles.

Allergens that roll up

Tag allergens on ingredients once. They surface automatically on every recipe that uses them, through every nested prep.

Canonical ingredient library

One clean catalog with fuzzy duplicate detection and bulk merge — 'Roma Tomato' and 'Tomato, Roma' become one, while Sharp and Mild Cheddar stay distinct.

Units that do the math

A measurement registry with kitchen-aware conversion and rounding, plus brand-defined units for the way your kitchen actually measures.

Two views, one record

Front of House and Heart of House render from one production recipe, so the floor and the line are never out of sync — and preps are reusable building blocks those recipes pull in.

Rich, visual steps

Add photos and video to any step so the standard is unmistakable — technique and the finished plate, right on the line.

Bring your recipes in

Paste your recipes or upload PDFs, Word docs, or photos and let AI structure them into editable drafts — review, tweak, and approve. No retyping the whole binder.

Questions

Good to know

How deep can preps nest?

There's no depth limit — a prep can use another prep, which uses another. Tavorly protects against cycles, and allergens roll up through every layer to the finished recipe.

What happens to duplicate ingredients?

Tavorly flags likely duplicates ('Roma Tomato' vs 'Tomato, Roma') and lets you bulk-merge them, with a short undo window — while keeping genuinely different items (Sharp vs Mild Cheddar) separate.

Can I define my own units?

Yes. Alongside standard conversions (oz↔g, volume handling with kitchen rounding), you can add brand-specific measurement units for how your kitchen actually portions and batches.

Do I have to retype everything to get started?

No. Import by pasting text or uploading PDFs, Word docs, or photos, and Tavorly's AI structures them into editable drafts you review and approve. Prefer not to use AI? A quick manual import splits pasted text into separate recipes for you.

Do guests ever see this?

No. Tavorly is staff-facing only. The Front-of-House view is for your team on the floor — guests never see the system.
