Finding anything, fast
One search box over recipes, ingredients, menus, stations and people — plus the commands you can run from it.
Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows) anywhere in the authoring app, or click the search box in the sidebar. One box covers both jobs: finding your content, and getting to a screen.
The placeholder says what it does — “Search recipes, ingredients, menus… or run a command”.
Searching your brand
Type a few letters and results appear across types, each labelled with what it is:
Searching redfish in a brand that has one fish dish returns
Blackened Redfish (Recipe) and Redfish fillet (Ingredient) — the dish
and the thing it is made of, together.
That cross-type behaviour is the point. You rarely know in advance whether the thing you are looking for was filed as a recipe, a prep or an ingredient, and you should not have to guess before you can search.
Narrow with the scope buttons above the results: All, Recipes, Ingredients, Menus, Stations & sections, Users.
Running a command
With the box empty, it lists what you can do and where you can go, grouped by Create and Go to — new production recipe, new prep, import recipes, and a jump to every main screen including Help.
It is faster than the sidebar once you know what you want, and it is the quickest route to a screen you use rarely.
Keyboard
- ⌘K / Ctrl+K — open
- ↑ ↓ — move through results
- Enter — open the highlighted result
- Esc — close
What it does not cover
- Your options depend on your role. The list only ever offers screens you can actually open, so a Creator sees no Approvals entry. See Roles, and what each one can do.
- The line has its own search. The cook-facing recipe viewer carries a separate search over the recipes that location can actually open — it is not this box, and it deliberately does not reach the rest of your brand.
- This documentation is searched separately, from the search box on these pages. The palette offers a single Help entry rather than one per article.
